Name: Miguel Amate
Year of Birth & Death: (1944 - ?)
Biography: A spanish painter that moved to Paris in 1968. His main influences were Tapies and Salon de la Jeune Peinture. However later on he produced model paintings with greater erotic substance. He was a self-taught painter and knew nothing of Surrealism. Amate’s work was mostly Spanish expressionism without the mystical elements, then combined with surrealism.
